ICYMI: Landsman and Inslee Call Out Trump’s Expensive Energy Agenda in Latest Episode of “The Fly-In”

Columbus, OH – Last week, Rep. Greg Landsman (OH-01), a co-host of “The Fly-In”, a podcast by the New Democrat Coalition, sat down with former Washington Governor Jay Inslee on a timely subject: rising energy prices. Gas prices in Ohio are almost at $4 per gallon, all thanks to Trump’s reckless war in Iran and his ongoing attacks on the clean energy industry.

Governor Inslee highlighted the Trump administration’s backward priorities that put the costly and volatile fossil fuel industry ahead of cheaper, made-in-America cleaner energy. Inslee warns that Trump is “working to try to deprive people of cheap energy. It’s just crazy when you’ve had 13% inflation in electrical rates and now a buck a gallon.” and asks, “Who wakes up in the morning and says I am going to try to stuff expensive energy down the throats of Americans?”

Rep. Landsman added, “He’s the most corrupt president in the history of America…He gets so much money from big oil and gas, and they love it…He has made billions since he’s been in office, and I suspect a lot of that comes from people who benefit from him killing projects that they had to compete with.”

During the 2024 campaign, Donald Trump suggested that oil executive donors should raise $1 billion to return him to the White House because it would be a “deal” compared to the taxation and regulation they would avoid under his presidency.  It’s clear that Trump is making good on his end of the deal.
