ICYMI: NC Lt. Gov Mark Robinson’s RNC Speech Ignores The Real Cause of High Gas Prices: Big Oil

Raleigh, NC – On Monday night, North Carolina’s Lt. Governor and gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson spoke during the kickoff of the Republican National Convention. In his speech, Robinson failed to point out the true source of high gas prices: Big Oil executives making big profits. The same Big Oil executives who Trump is in the pocket of, basically agreeing to sell out America for campaign donations.
Climate Power’s recent billboard campaign in Charlotte and Raleigh is a reminder of the greed of Big Oil & Gas executives and how it impacts the pockets of North Carolinians. You can see the billboards at the following locations:
Charlotte:
- I-85, at Exit 40 Graham St., north side facing east
- I-77 N/O LaSalle St, facing east
- I-77, 0.3 miles south of Clanton Rd., facing south
- I-77, 0.35 miles south of Westinghouse Blvd., facing south
Raleigh:
- 2900 S Wilmington St. Overpass, 0.8 miles south of I-440/40, west side facing north
- 3629 Capital Blvd., west side facing south
Climate Power is making sure North Carolina families know who is to blame for high gas prices at the pump: Big Oil’s greed. In 2023, CEOs like ExxonMobil’s Darren Woods raked in $36.9 million in pay. Meanwhile, North Carolina drivers are faced with gas & energy prices that stretch their wallets in the summer months, when traveling and staying cool is top of mind. The billboards from Climate Power are a reminder to North Carolina that when Big Oil & Gas CEOs profit, we pay.
