ICYMI: Trump Says He Doesn’t Care About the Midterms As Electricity Prices Skyrocket by 18% Under His Watch 

Gallup: Worries about energy costs are up by 10 percentage points since last year, the highest level since 2008, and tie housing as the second biggest affordability concern 

Washington, DC – Apparently, Donald Trump doesn’t care about being held accountable for making life more expensive for American families. At a cabinet meeting today, Trump said that he “[doesn’t] care about the midterms,” even while Americans face soaring gas prices and electricity costs that have spiked by 18% under his watch. 

Trump has already made it abundantly clear that he “[isn’t thinking] about Americans’ financial situation,” and vulnerable Republicans who are hoping to keep their jobs this November are going to have to decide whether they agree. Unfortunately for them, with just six months until election day and Trump’s approval ratings plummeting to record lows, they may have to start drafting those resumes.
