Reuters: US orders Orsted to halt offshore wind project, deepening industry woes
Washington, D.C. — When pressed by Fox News about the Trump administration’s decision to halt construction of a nearly built Rhode Island wind farm amidst skyrocketing energy demand, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin told Fox News that Trump “is not a fan of wind.” The wind farm would have produced enough electricity for more than 350,000 homes. At a time when energy demand is higher than ever and household electricity bills are up 10%, Trump is gutting the cheapest, quickest to build energy sources, just because he doesn’t like them. Americans are already paying the price for Trump’s war on clean energy. Trump’s energy crisis has already killed more than 64,000 jobs, and his Republican Rate Hike is spiking costs for families across the country. With Trump and Energy Secretary Wright desperately trying to shift blame for utility rates going up on their watch, they will need better excuses than this.
