Midnight Manufacturing Massacre: House Rules Committee Republicans Consider Killing 158,000 Jobs in Their Own States

Washington, DC — At 1:00 am ET, ensuring nobody in America can watch what they are doing, Republicans on the House Rules Committee will work to advance legislation that directly threatens more than 158,000 good-paying jobs and $351 billion of investment in their own states.

The GOP budget bill would cripple American manufacturing and clean energy production, while stripping health care from millions and adding trillions to the deficit – all so billionaires and megacorporations can get another massive tax cut. And at the demand of their most extreme members, they are reportedly planning to make their legislation even more extreme. As this analysis shows, by advancing this bill, the House Rules Committee is jeopardizing thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in investment in their own backyards.
