Washington, D.C. — Today, Bill Nye The Science Guy released a new video reminding people to vote this fall and laying out the key climate choice in the election, the latest in his series for Climate Power’s “Too Hot Not to Vote” campaign to register and mobilize voters. In the video, Bill thanks people for their support but says that “from now on” people can only have their selfies with him if they vote this November. Bill also encourages people to “support the party who passed the clean energy plan,” and notes that “the other side has been in denial about it all these years.”
“Extreme weather events are becoming more frequent— and more extreme. We are changing Earth’s climate. The first thing to do about it is vote. Democrats have a plan to address climate change. The other side is pretending it’s not even happening,” Bill Nye said. “I get asked for selfies all the time when I’m out and about. I’m usually happy to oblige, but from now on, if you ask for a selfie, I’m going to insist that you commit to vote. Climate is on the ballot, from top to bottom this November. To ensure a healthy future for all of us, vote.”
The video is the third in a series for Climate Power’s “Too Hot Not to Vote” campaign. See the first two HERE and HERE. Climate Power launched “Too Hot Not to Vote” earlier this fall to educate, mobilize, and register climate voters. The effort is co-chaired by key climate voices including Bill Nye, Rosario Dawson, Sophia Bush, Jack Schlossberg, Misha Collins, and Piper Perabo, and brings together partners across the climate advocacy space to engage and motivate climate voters. Climate is a pressing issue in this election, with 7-in-10 likely voters saying climate change is important to their choice in the presidential election.
