NEW: Climate Power Launches 180 Digital Billboards Educating Americans about Trump and GOP Members’ Records on Disaster Funding

Washington, D.C.  —  Climate Power is launching 180 digital billboards educating Americans on Donald Trump and congressional Republicans’ records of putting lives at risk by voting against extreme weather-related disaster funding. The digital billboards will blanket three congressional districts in Iowa, North Carolina, and Texas, and will educate the public about what these cuts will mean for them. As climate-fueled extreme weather becomes more frequent and destructive, these cuts to disaster preparedness and response will put more lives at risk and leave families with the bill for rebuilding after storms.

Climate Power Senior Advisor for Climate Urgency Sarah Galvez issued the following statement: “These communities, who are still reeling from the devastating impacts of extreme weather, know firsthand how important it is for help to show up quickly when disaster strikes. They should know that Reps. De La Cruz and Miller-Meeks voted against disaster funding, while Donald Trump actively gutted it – putting their lives at risk and forcing families to pick up the tab after storms wrecked their homes and communities. When climate disasters strike and federal relief is delayed or missing, Americans need to understand that it’s these policies that put them in harm’s way.”
