NEW: Enbridge Made $1.5 Billion During Trump’s War as Fuel Prices Shatter Records Across the Country

Americans have spent $35 billion more at the pump since the start of Trump’s war of choice in Iran

Trump is making good on his promise to do Big Oil’s bidding while Americans pay the price

Washington, DC – Today, Enbridge announced its quarterly earnings of $1.5 billion, a 9% increase from their quarterly earnings before the war in Iran. With a reported $1.2 billion of cash on hand, Enbridge is raking in significant profits while Americans continue to pinch pennies at the pump. Trump promised his Big Oil donors that if they donated a billion dollars to his campaign, he’d make sure it was worth their while. Over the past few weeks, those same donors have been cashing in, announcing massive profits in their quarterly earnings reports.

From his war of choice in Iran to gutting clean energy projects to decimating pollution protections, Trump has consistently lined the pockets of his Big Oil donors while leaving everyday Americans to foot the bill. Now, while Enbridge and other major oil and gas companies benefit from Trump’s global energy crisis, gas prices have topped $4.50 per gallon, worsening an already dire affordability crisis.

Climate Power Communications Director Alex Glass issued the following statement: “Thanks to Trump, Big Oil is laughing all the way to the bank while Americans struggle to put gas in the tank. Trump may refuse to acknowledge his affordability crisis, but working families across the country are sick and tired of paying sky-high gas prices while his billionaire buddies rake in sky-high earnings. In six months, Americans will vote with Trump’s disastrous economy in mind – one that has benefitted the few and screwed over the many.”
