Donald Trump and MAGA extremists plan to kill over a quarter million good-paying jobs, largely in Republican-led districts
Washington, D.C. — Climate Power’s latest clean energy boom report shows President Joe Biden’s clean energy plan is revitalizing communities across the country by helping create over 271,000 clean energy jobs since its passage. While a majority of new jobs are in districts represented by Republicans, Donald Trump and his MAGA allies in Congress are dead set on killing the incentives that make this job growth possible.
Toplines include:
- Republican Districts: 274 projects totaling $262.19 billion in investment and 144,532 new clean energy jobs in districts represented by Republicans.
- Rural communities: More than 43,570 jobs, 92 projects, and $44.9 billion in investments in rural communities.
- Low-income communities: 228 projects totaling $97.16 billion in investment and 105,182 new jobs in low-income communities.
“President Biden’s clean energy plan is revitalizing communities across the country, with over half of all new clean energy jobs created in Republican-led districts,” said Lori Lodes, Climate Power Executive Director. “As president, Donald Trump shuttered factories, shipped jobs overseas, and endangered our air and water. He will do it again if given the chance. It could not be more clear that Donald Trump and his MAGA allies are bought and paid for by Big Oil, when they would rather kill over a quarter of a million good-paying jobs, many in Republican districts, than continue investing in a clean energy boom that is creating jobs, lowering energy bills, and protecting the health of hard-working Americans.”
