Washington, D.C. — Ahead of Donald Trump’s first address to Congress, new analysis shows that more than 42,000 pledged clean energy jobs have been lost or stalled since Trump’s election. A full list of impacted projects and businesses can be found here. In a matter of weeks, Trump has taken a wrecking ball to the clean energy investments that are bringing good-paying jobs and lower energy costs to communities across the country.
Climate Power executive director Lori Lodes issued the following statement:
“America is losing nearly a thousand jobs a day because of Trump’s war against cheaper, faster, and cleaner energy. Congressional Republicans have a choice: get in line with Trump’s job-killing energy agenda or take a stand to protect jobs and lower costs for American families.”
Here is what “energy dominance” looks like under Trump:
- 42,493 announced jobs, representing more than $57 billion in investment, and 64 projects have been stopped or stalled since Donald Trump’s election.
- Electricity prices are on track to be the highest they have been since the 1990s.
- Trump’s proposed tariffs would increase gas prices for Americans by at least 15 cents per gallon.
