President Biden to Spotlight How Bidenomics is Delivering for Communities in Arizona

Grand Canyon, Arizona – Today, President Biden will travel to Arizona to spotlight how Bidenomics is delivering good paying jobs across the Grand Canyon state.

The passage of President Biden’s landmark Inflation Reduction Act has spurred over $8.3 billion in private investments in the state – growing Arizona’s clean energy manufacturing industry exponentially. Since the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, 12,720 clean energy jobs have been furthered, proving that Bidenomics is delivering for America’s middle class. This includes $1.2 billion in investments by American Battery Factory in the Tucson area and the recently announced $5.6 billion battery facility in Queen Creek by LG Energy.

Last week, Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego met with President Biden to discuss important steps to protect workers in Arizona amid the record-setting, climate-fueled extreme heat the state is experiencing. The administration has since taken prompt action, proposing a new rule that would require employers to provide adequate safety support, announcing  $7 million to improve extreme weather forecasts, and approving nearly $1 billion for broadband expansion in the state, which will increase awareness regarding heat safety alerts, advisories, and warnings for workers in remote areas.
