President Biden Travels to Philadelphia to Showcase Impacts of Clean Energy Plan

Philadelphia, PA – During President Biden’s visit to Philadelphia today, he will spotlight key achievements from the Administration’s clean energy plan – bringing countless jobs and investments to communities across the Keystone State. Additionally, President Biden plans on announcing the first offshore wind sale in the Gulf of Mexico at a Philadelphia shipyard; Philadelphia’s shipping and clean energy industry stand to benefit greatly from this historic investment, which will create good paying jobs.

The Inflation Reduction Act is expanding opportunities for Pennsylvanians, with more than $270 million in investments in clean power generation and storage being made between now and 2030, and creating jobs across solar, wind, storage, and other clean energy industries to add to the existing 92,000 Pennsylvania workers already employed in clean energy jobs.

The  Inflation Reduction Act has bolstered local economies and strengthened home-grown clean energy manufacturing, benefitting more than 542,000 manufacturing workers in Pennsylvania. It also supports climate-smart agriculture practices, helping Pennsylvania’s 52,700 farms take the lead on climate solutions.

The good news is Pennsylvania voters react positively to President Biden’s clean-energy agenda. According to recent polling of registered voters in Pennsylvania by Climate Power in collaboration with HIT Strategies, 70% of Keystone state voters are supportive of President Biden’s policies that create good-paying jobs and expand job training in the clean energy industry.

Biden will touch on these achievements and others to come in building America’s clean energy future, with Pennsylvania leading the way.
