Reminder: Trump Rolled Back More than 125 Environmental Protections

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A quick reminder about Trump’s record on gutting protections to put more chemicals in the air that we breathe and water we drink. We know the Trump presidency is a blur of toxicity, so here’s a quick refresher on his environmental record, which is the worst of any president in U.S. history: 

• FACT: Trump gutted more than 125 environmental protections, including critical safeguards against noxious chemicals in the air we breathe and water we drink. 

• FACT: Trump’s rollbacks included controls on toxic substances known to have catastrophic health impacts, like lead, mercury, arsenic, and even asbestos.

• FACT: Trump allowed corporate polluters to pump chemicals linked to cancer and brain damage into our air and water, disproportionately hurting children. 

• FACT: As Trump bowed to the chemical and fossil fuel industries, his own EPA was often forced to concede that the moves would cost thousands of American lives.
