SECRETARY HAALAND TO SPOTLIGHT HOW BIDEN ADMINISTRATION’S CLEAN ENERGY PLAN IS DELIVERING ON ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE IN KANSAS

Topeka, Kansas – Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland’s visit to Kansas will spotlight how President Biden’s clean energy plan is delivering environmental justice investments to the state’s local communities. The Biden Administration has made historic investments to combat legacy pollution, restore critical habitats, address the state’s drought crisis, and help communities prepare for extreme weather events. 

To promote environmental justice in Kansas, the Biden administration has invested millions in cleaning up orphaned oil and gas wells, restoring Indigenous prairies, improving wildfire management, addressing the drought, reclaiming abandoned mines, and preserving Kansas’ geological and geophysical data.
