SHOT/CHASER: Big Oil Meets with Trump to Bolster Their Bottom Line

Last year, Trump asked Big Oil for $1 billion and pledged to enact their wishlist…what will he promise them this time?

Washington, D.C. – Tomorrow, Big Oil is meeting with Donald Trump at the White House to thank him for gutting health protections and to ask for him to protect their profits by keeping oil prices high for Americans.

SHOT: Trump asked Big Oil for $1 billion for this campaign and promised the industry their wish list.

Washington Post: “Giving $1 billion would be a “deal,” Trump said, because of the taxation and regulation they would avoid thanks to him” …

“Yet oil giants will see an even greater windfall — helped by new offshore drilling, speedier permits and other relaxed regulations — in a second Trump administration, the former president told the executives over the dinner of chopped steak at Mar-a-Lago.

CHASER: Big Oil is set to join Trump at the White House tomorrow to thank him – and push him to protect their bottom line while costs for everyday Americans skyrocket.

Bloomberg: Harold Hamm… “warned that US drillers need $80-a-barrel oil to be able to cover costs.

CBS News, 2020: Trump’s deal “would help the U.S. frackers and other oil producers. But it could also boost the price of gas at the pump at a time when American consumers are already hurting.”

REMINDER: Trump is trying to gut the clean energy industry on Big Oil’s behalf, which will send electricity costs through the roof.

New York Times: “As President Trump works to blunt the growth of wind and solar power and expand fossil fuel production in the United States, the renewable energy industry is making a new pitch: You need us…”

“Our message to the administration is, let’s be realistic about this,” John Ketchum, the chief executive of NextEra Energy, one of the country’s largest power producers, said in an interview. “If you take renewables and storage off the table, we’re going to force electricity prices to the moon.
