Shot/Chaser: Trump Promised to Cut Electricity Costs in Half. One Year Later, They’re Up 11%.

Washington, D.C. – A year ago today, candidate Donald Trump took the stage at Madison Square Garden and promised that he would halve utility bills within his first year in office. Instead, household electricity prices are up 11% and are poised to jump even more as Trump and Republicans take reliable clean energy off the grid. In New Jersey, where voters will choose a new governor in one week, American families have seen a 21% jump in electricity prices in the last year.

SHOT: On the campaign trail, Trump repeatedly promised to slash energy bills by half “and even more”.

CHASER: Americans are facing record-high energy costs because Trump and Republicans are blocking clean energy and producing less power.
