Iowa is a national leader in wind energy, with wind power accounting for 63% of the state’s electricity, and is among the top 10 states with the lowest average electricity price 

Washington, DC – As JD Vance heads to Iowa — a state that relies on wind power to generate more than 60% of its electricity — the Trump administration is blocking more than 150 wind projects from being built, keeping 30 gigawatts of power offline. Trump has also spent billions of taxpayer dollars to take wind energy off the grid as demand soars. Vance’s visit comes against a backdrop of soaring costs on everything from gasoline to groceries as Trump’s war of choice in Iran kickstarts a global energy crisis.
