Thanks to Trump’s War, Diesel Prices are Reaching Record-Highs

Nationwide, the average cost of a gallon of diesel is less than $0.20 below a record high.
Washington, DC – The national average price for diesel has steadily inched closer to a record high as Trump’s war of choice in Iran continues into its 9th week. Since then, gas prices have now eclipsed $4.45, the highest price since July of 2022. Jet fuel prices have also increased roughly 65% — contributing to the shuttering of Spirit Airlines over the weekend. The damage hasn’t stopped there; fertilizer prices have also increased dramatically, with the average price now being up to 50% higher.
Some states have already seen record-high diesel prices since Trump began his war, causing prices for everything from groceries to package shipping to rise. The problem for Republicans? Most of these states are where they have members on the frontlines ahead of the midterms. Below are the states that saw record-high prices just this morning:
- Wisconsin reached a record high of $5.67.
- Michigan reached a record high of $6.01.
- Illinois reached a record high of $5.99.
Even last month, several states also saw diesel prices skyrocket to record highs:
- Texas saw a record high of $5.37.
- Florida saw a record high of $ $5.82.
- California saw a record high of $7.75.
- Arizona saw a record high of $6.21.
The American people know that Trump and his Republican enablers in Congress are to blame for this affordability crisis. More than 70% of registered voters said Trump is to blame for exorbitant gas prices. So it is no surprise that in recent polling, only 37% of American adults approved of Trump’s job performance, all while his disapproval rating has reached a new high of 62%.
