Trump’s Cabinet Will Enact His Project 2025 Agenda

Washington, D.C. — Today, the Senate voted to confirm Chris Wright as Secretary of Energy. This follows last week’s confirmations of Doug Burgum as Secretary of the Interior and Lee Zeldin as Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. In addition, the Senate voted on a motion to proceed to consider Russ Vought’s nomination to be Director of the Office of Management and Budget. Vought was a key architect of Project 2025, which Trump attempted to distance himself from throughout his campaign.

Climate Power executive director Lori Lodes issued the following statement:

“Donald Trump has spent his first weeks in office sowing chaos and hiking up costs for household goods instead of helping Americans. Now, he has a cabinet hand-picked by an oil billionaire that will help him implement policies straight from his Project 2025 playbook. Trump’s agenda will threaten clean air and water, hike electricity costs, and make it more difficult for communities struck by disaster to get relief.

“The Trump administration’s priorities are clear: he’s looking out for billionaires, not everyday Americans.”
