Trump’s War is Sending Gas Prices Through the Roof

The national average price for gasoline jumped 12 cents per gallon last night, its largest single-day rise since 2022 

America’s families are already struggling with skyrocketing energy costs thanks to Trump taking energy off the grid

Washington, DC – Just one week after Trump bragged about bringing down gasoline prices in his State of the Union address, Americans are facing skyrocketing prices at the pump because of his attacks on Iran. Prices for natural gas are also surging, raising heating costs even higher as American families dig out from a brutal winter that has already left millions with record-high utility bills. 

Climate Power Senior Advisor Alex Witt issued the following statement: “Trump promised lower energy costs and ‘no more wars,’ but he’s broken both promises. Utility costs have spiked by as much as 13% and instead of investing in homegrown clean energy that protects consumers from oil shocks, Trump is choosing to drag the country into another dangerous and costly foreign war that will raise prices even more.”
