Vice President Harris to Spotlight Clean Energy Wins Ahead of Inflation Reduction Act Anniversary

Seattle, Washington – Today, Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff are visiting Washington to spotlight federal clean energy investments ahead of  the one year anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act. U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm will be joining the Vice President as she gives a speech to celebrate the ground-breaking legislation.

President Biden’s clean energy plan has spurred upwards of $1.8 billion in private investments across Washington, sparking job creation in the state. Furthermore,  the administration is helping the state achieve its climate goal of 100% zero-emissions electricity by 2045.

At the end of June, Washington’s largest utility, Puget Sound Energy, announced they would reach 63% clean generation by 2030 – offering renewable alternatives to more than one million Washingtonians.

Just a year after the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, Washington’s clean energy transition is a perfect example of how President Biden’s economic policy is combating the climate crisis while building a clean energy economy that delivers good-paying jobs for Americans.
