Who is “We” to Mike Rogers?

Lansing, MI – Millionaire Senate candidate Mike Rogers (GOP-FL) was recently quoted saying “we’re gonna be fine,” in response to the Iran War. While Trump and Big Oil tout the  billions of profit they will make from the Iran War, Michiganders are getting hammered by skyrocketing gas prices here at home. Gas prices in Michigan have increased 35% since the beginning of the war on Iran, going from $2.98 per gallon to more than $4 a gallon in the past week.

And these higher costs are having ripple effects through every part of Michigan’s economy. This increase hits just as families are traveling for spring break and looking to plan summer travel, with flight prices expected to continue to rise after Delta’s CEO reported the surge in jet fuel prices increased the airline’s costs by $400 million in March alone. Every $10-per-barrel increase in global oil prices pushes up annual household costs by $450.

Climate Power Michigan Director Tom Lenard issued the following statement:

“When Mike Rogers says ‘we’re gonna be fine,’ he must be referring to the Big Oil companies who have always bankrolled his campaigns and President Trump. Those of us here in Michigan making decisions between gas and groceries are going to be reeling from this war and the war on cleaner, cheaper energy for years to come.”
