18 DAYS ‘TIL DEFAULT: 7 IN 10 AMERICANS SUPPORT CUTTING EMISSIONS BOLSTERED BY THE IRA, DERAILED IF CONGRESSIONAL EXTREMISTS’ DEFAULT ON AMERICA ACT BECOMES LAW

Washington, D.C. –  Time and time again, Speaker McCarthy and the MAGA House Republicans have proven they are working against the will of the American people. An overwhelming seven-in-ten Americans support the Biden Administration’s goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050, and two-thirds think the federal government should encourage domestic production of wind and solar power.

Yet, congressional Republicans remain set on rolling back progress made toward a clean energy future and bringing good paying manufacturing jobs back home. Of the over 190 clean energy projects created and advanced since President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law, there have been 60 wind and solar power projects announced across 28 states, creating nearly 23,000 jobs. Cuts to clean energy incentives could eliminate thousands of good paying jobs that don’t require four year degrees.
