Climate Power Encouraged by Schumer-Manchin Deal to Speed Up the Production of Clean Energy and Lower Costs for Families
Washington, D.C. – Lori Lodes, Executive Director of Climate Power, issued the following statement in response to the Senate releasing text for the reconciliation bill:
“Democrats in Congress have put forward a cost-saving plan that ramps up the production of American-made clean energy, lowers energy bills, and takes on climate change. If passed, clean energy tax credits and other critical climate investments will put the United States on a path to lowering emissions in half by 2030. The clock is ticking and our window for Congressional climate action is narrow. Congress needs to seize on this opening and pass the strongest clean energy and climate provisions possible as soon as possible. It’s time to supercharge our clean energy economy and protect our kids’ futures.
“Let’s get it done.”
