Inflation Reduction Act Guidebook is a Critical Step in Implementing the Climate Law

Guidebook aims to empower communities and local governments with the needed information to best utilize climate investments

WASHINGTON, DC — In response to the Biden administration releasing the first edition of the Inflation Reduction Act GuidebookLori Lodes, Executive Director of Climate Power, released the following statement:

“Passing the Inflation Reduction Act was an historic victory in the fight against climate change. Now, it’s time for the hard work of implementing the law and making sure people understand how the climate and clean energy investments will positively impact their lives and keep their communities healthy and strong. Cleaner, cheaper, American-made energy is taking off. The guidebook is a critical resource to help people and communities get the information needed to use the incentives found in the climate law.”

The Inflation Reduction Act Guidebook aims to inform governments at all levels and communities across the country of the benefits in the historic climate law, and how to best utilize the investments, from tax incentives aimed at speeding up our clean energy economy, rebates to weatherize homes, and more. You can read the Inflation Reduction Act Guidebook here

Since the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, Climate Power has run a campaign to inform people, specifically young and marginalized communities, of the clean energy benefits found in the landmark climate legislation. The new climate law will lower energy costs by over $1,000 for working families, create millions of good-paying clean energy jobs, and cut toxic carbon pollution by half. Climate Power touted these significant investments for families through a $10 million advertising campaign and events across the country.
