PRESIDENT BIDEN DOUBLES DOWN ON HISTORIC CLIMATE RECORD WITH AMERICAN CLIMATE CORPS

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, President Biden announced the American Climate Corps, doubling down on his historic record of climate investment and job creation. The program aims to employ more than 20,000 and will mobilize young people to deploy clean energy, boost climate resilience, restore protected lands and waters, invest in environmental justice, and more – all while training a new generation of skilled workers.

“President Biden is a champion of the American worker and the American economy. His climate plan has already created hundreds of thousands of jobs and fueled a clean energy manufacturing boom across the country,” said Climate Power chief of staff Matt Compton. “It’s ushering in good-paying jobs that don’t require a four-year degree and that build invaluable skill sets that workers can leverage over the long term. The American Climate Corps is an investment in our environment, our economy, and our future.”

In his first term alone, President Biden’s climate plan has sparked more than 270 new clean energy projects that will create over 170,000 jobs in 44 states, totaling $278 billion in new investments for local economies, with more announced every day. Most of the clean energy jobs created by the law don’t require a college degree and pay well, meaning that you can raise a family on these jobs.
