STATEMENT ON THE PRESIDENT’S BUDGET

Washington, D.C. – Today, the White House released the President’s Fiscal Year 2023 Budget. In response, Climate Power executive director Lori Lodes issued the following statement:

“The President’s Budget doubles down on his commitment to make major investments in clean energy that will cut costs for families and hasten our transition away from dirty and dangerous fossil fuels. And all of these investments will be completely paid for by making sure the wealthiest Americans and huge corporations, including oil and gas companies currently reaping windfall profits, pay their fair share in taxes. 

“This budget includes major – and badly needed – increases in funding for all of the agencies tasked with implementing the president’s ambitious climate, clean energy, and environmental justice goals.

“Congress must act as soon as possible to make the president’s vision a reality.”
