The Republican Rate Hike has taken a “sledgehammer” to Iowa’s clean energy production, saddling Iowans with higher energy costs and a weaker electric grid, as well as threatening clean energy jobs and investments in the state. Since Trump’s election, his attacks on clean energy have sent utility bills in Iowa through the roof, causing as much as $54 rate increases for some Iowa families. And every single Iowan Republican voted for Trump’s bill to create a self-inflicted energy crisis, increasing costs for Iowans to give a massive tax break to oil and gas billionaires.
