NEW REPORT: Clean Energy Boom is 330,000 Clean Energy Jobs Strong

Washington, D.C. – Climate Power’s latest clean energy boom report shows that in just two years since the passage of the clean energy plan, the law has helped create over 334,565 new jobs and sparked $372 billion in new investments in 47 states and Puerto Rico. In low income communities, 290 new clean energy projects have been announced, bringing $114 billion in investment and 134,385 jobs across 38 states.
As Vice President, Kamala Harris cast the tie-breaking vote to pass the clean energy plan – which will triple the nation’s clean energy supply. In just two years, the legislation is lowering energy costs, cleaning up our air and water, and bringing good-paying jobs to big cities and small towns across the country. Donald Trump wants to repeal the clean energy plan – putting over 330,000 jobs at risk, raising energy prices, and allowing the fossil fuel industry to put chemicals into our air and water, disproportionately harming Black communities who are on the frontlines of the climate crisis.
“In two years since its passage, the clean energy plan has created over 330,000 good-paying jobs in communities across the country — and Trump wants to kill each and every one of them so his Big Oil buddies can pollute and profiteer — putting us backward and hitting Black and Brown communities first and worst,” said Markeya Thomas, Climate Power’s Senior Advisor for Black Engagement. “Vice President Harris casting the deciding vote to pass the clean energy plan and triple clean energy production has lowered costs, cleaned up our air and water, and offered affordable options to our communities. Our freedom to have safe and healthy communities is on the ballot, and the only presidential candidate fighting for us is Vice President Harris.”
